Welcome to SILT, the pop culture and lifestyle newsletter by me, Alanna Duffield.
SILT represents an endlessly moving discourse, sinking and surfacing, changing over time, but always held up by the current.
Here, I’ll be taking a deep dive into the trends, discussions and issues that are shaping our culture—whether we like them or loathe them.
You’ll also notice that my subscribers and I love to dive even deeper into the discourse in the comments of each post. Do join in! Everyone is lovely and friendly.
I also have a longer article that gives you information about SILT in even more detail. This piece has info on fees, brand partnerships, testimonials and much more. You can give it a read here.
How it works
All SILT subscribers get access to a weekly article, delivered to your inbox every Sunday, on a pop culture or lifestyle topic.
But for only £3.50 a month (and only £2.50 if you select the annual option), paid subscribers get access to two additional bi-weekly posts called Ask Alanna—an agony aunt-style advice column where you can submit your own questions.
About me
I’m Alanna, a writer, reformed people-pleaser and pop culture addict.
I’ve been a writer for most of my adult life and have been published in Cosmopolitan, Metro, Stylist, Dear Damsels and the BBC. Alongside this, I’m also a copywriter, writing for the likes of Google, Aston Martin, Tattoodo and MarieMur.
Collaborations and brand partnerships
If you have an event, product or experience you think would interest SILT’s subscribers, subscribe to drop me a message. I’m always happy to hear from - and write about - brands and individuals who align with our readership. Sustainable, minority-founded and LGBTQ+-friendly brands are particularly encouraged!
Already, SILT has partnered with bestselling jewellery brand D.Louise, and ethical sex education platform Make Love Not Porn.
Consider supporting my writing
Writing for a living isn’t always the easiest thing—but it’s what I love doing. For the price of a coffee each month, you can upgrade to paid. This helps support my work and enables me to keep writing.
You can also support me by subscribing to my poetry newsletter, The Line Break, and by following me on Instagram at @alannaduffield.
Thank you deeply to everyone who continues to support, read and engage with my content. Love Alanna x
